Feeling a bit nostalgic today.. I used to be in a band a million years ago in Norway. I had no idea what i was doing back then, i was just “hired help” ,but it’s thanks to them that i started writing and am doing what i’m doing today. So grateful for that! This was our biggest hit. Sampled from a famous Norwegian movie “Flaaklypa Grand Prix” which is also the video. ♥

The Norwegian competing songs for Eurovision were released yesterday. I guess it’s on. I don’t really feel like music is a competition like sports. Music is creative. It’s about taste and we all have different taste which is good…Personally i think it would be more fair to not release the songs yet but have them be brand spanking new the first time you saw them performed on tv. But i don’t make the rules..i just try to follow them occasionally and then break them. As much as possible.

Anyway! VOTE FOR MEEEEE! I won’t be on zeee telly until February 4th, but you can from today on buy the song and learn it and cheer me on;) Also my alter ego Silya the Songwriter wants you to cheer for another song i wrote which is in the competition, “Shapeshifter”, being performed by Rikke Normann! She’s on zeee telly January 28th. I’d like to compete against myself in the finale……

Since i own”Euphoria” (which is great) you can’t buy it individually from itunes (which is lame). You have to buy the whole album (which you can) here.
Or if you only want “Euphoria” and you’re in Norway you can get it at Platekompaniet for a few kroner here.

So.. My Marks and i have decided to just do this! We got some amazing musicianfriends together and now it’s a band. We have so many songs now and it’s time to play live! We had a few rehearsals and did a show at Pianos on dec 16th. It was crazy fun and i think we’re on to something…No i know we’re on to something.

I can’t wait to play again with these beautiful people! Mark Palgy on bass, Mark Verbos on keys/scientist, Guy Licata on drums, Christian Mendoza on guitar, Carly Hughes & Inyang Bassey sangin’. They’re all just so damn good! <3

…without a camera..Aaaah i’ve been a “bad blogger”.. My camera broke and i have not yet gotten a new one..:( But i will:) I have been very busy writing though here in NYC..Lots of new tunes with The Wild Boys aka Electric City Productions! We’re on to something…

Norway Day

Being abroad on The Norwegian Constitution Day (May 17th) makes one xtra patriotic and flocks of Norwegians gather to celebrate..In LA they gather at the Moods Of Norway store in Beverly Hills..of course.. in true viking style one drinks a lot and celebrate all day all night with waffles, booze, accordians, blondes, guitarshredding of the national anthem etc… Early in the day i felt the norwegian spirit and the Moods Boyz let me do some Voi’ing..:)

Making popppp with the lovely Brian London in downtown LA which has a “NYC” feeling..kinda. Recording a version of “All you need is love” for a Beatles project coming soon…..At the spaceshiplooking studio Elytron with Alejandro and Rene! Talking s**t in Priya and Joel’s new discostudio on a day with limited inspiration, but still good times.
